What could you do? An interactive sexual decision-making program

What Could You Do? is a theory-based interactive DVD designed to educate young women about sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) such as HIV/AIDS, chlamydia, gonorrhea, genital herpes, genital warts, trichomoniasis, and hepatitis B. The DVD also provides information about how to make less risky sexual choices and how to use condoms correctly. Watching this DVD has been shown to increase abstinence, prevent condom failure, and reduce reported STD diagnosis.

What Could You Do? presents different scenarios involving decisions that young women face in relationKeishaships, identifies choice points, suggests risk-reduction strategies, and allows viewers to practice what they would do in a similar situation. This instruction goes beyond the curriculum in a typical sex ed or health class, and has its foundation in scientific research. It would be a useful addition to a comprehensive sexuality education program for sexually active teenagers.
